PTCB
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board is a national certification program that certifies pharmacy technicians enabling them the credentials to work more effectively and professionally with pharmacists to offer safe and effective patient care. Importantly, it demonstrates competency and dedication marketing you as a viable candidate to employers.
The exam is not difficult, but you do need to know your stuff, to put it simply. It consists of 90 multiple-choice questions arranging from medical terminology, brand/trade names, general algebraic equations to calculate dosages and drip rates. With an allotted two hour time frame to complete the test you have more than enough time to finish early if you’ve mastered the basics. The basics are all you need, you’ll be fine. You’ll learn as you go. Everyone started somewhere and they all went through the same thing.
